When did you first become involved with Scouting?
I first became involved in Scouting when my son started at the beginning of his Kindergarten year as a Lion. So, I am going on my 4th year in scouting.
What is your favorite scouting memory?
It is so hard to pick out a single favorite moment but if I absolutely have to I think it would be seeing the huge smile on my sons face this summer after he overcame not one but two of his biggest fears at summer camp.
What do you think is the most beneficial part of Scouting?
I believe the most beneficial part of scouting is that youth get to build up their self confidence, which can influence all parts of their lives.
What would you say to somebody that is looking into joining Scouts?
If I was to say something to somebody looking into joining scouts I would say that no matter your childs background or disability (if there is one) scouting can influence many different parts in their lives in a variety of different ways and even if it may seem difficult, in the end you as a parent/scout will not regret your time in scouting.
Additional Information:
Something I would like to add is that scouting is for everybody, including those whom may have medical conditions or disabilities that may believe it's not possible to be a part of scouting.

When did you first become involved with Scouting?
I got involved in Scouting last year when my now Wolf was a Tiger.
What is your favorite scouting memory?
It is hard to choose one because every day is an adventure. Currently, I would say putting the Flags on Veterans graves for Memorial Day. My dad is a Veteran and he joined us.
The growth that I have seen in not just my son, but the other kids has been amazing. He has grown more confident, he is more helpful and he is learning things that will help him as he goes through life.
What do you think is the most beneficial part of Scouting?
I have not seen one thing in Scouting that has not been beneficial. It is hard to choose because it is all parts of something much bigger. I have seen kids come out of their shells and be more confident in themselves. I have seen kids push their own boundaries (physical and mental) and come out proud of themselves with a huge smile on the other side.
What would you say to somebody that is looking into joining Scouts?
Take that leap! It has been great for our whole family. We're making memories while growing and learning together.
Scouting can push you to your limits in the best way. It is so much more than camping and hiking. There is learning to work with your hands, and friendships that will last forever along with life skills that will follow you into adulthood.
Additional information:
I throughly believe that joining Scouts has been the best thing we've ever done. I am so excited to see where it takes us next.

When did you first become involved with Scouting?
I first got involved in scouting when my parents enrolled me as a Tiger in 1999. I progressed through scouts achieving the rank of Tenderfoot in Boys Scouts before ultimately choosing to leave scouting around 2004 to pursue other interests. I became re-involved in scouts as a parent and committee member when I enrolled my daughter Harper in 2022, remembering the great youth development that scouting creates.
What is your favorite scouting memory?
My favorite scouting memories as a child are the feelings of friendship I remember from going to den and pack meetings. It was a great environment to meet other boys my age with similar interests. As a parent my favorite memories are the two summers Harper and I have spent at Butte Creek Scout Ranch and watching her grow and accomplish so many new things.
What do you think is the most beneficial part of Scouting?
I think the most beneficial part of scouting is a sense of structure. I personally feel that structure is important for children and I like that scouting is a place with established traditions and customs that kids can participate in. I also like that scouting is great for bringing children out of their comfort zone. Kids will never know what they are capable of until they are pushed and exposed to new experiences!
What would you say to somebody that is looking into joining Scouts?
For someone interested in joining scouts, I would say to come join us for a meeting! Come be our guest at either a Den or Pack meeting and see what kind of personal and social growth opportunities are there for your child.
